This Privacy Policy describes how Snooplay India Private Limited ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you visit or make a purchase from snooplay.in (the "Site") or use the Snooplay mobile application (the "App") on Android or iOS devices.


1. Personal Information We Collect

Device & Browsing Information

When you visit the Site or use the App, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including your web browser type, IP address, time zone, and cookies installed on your device. As you browse, we also collect information about pages or products you view, referring websites or search terms, and how you interact with the Site.

We collect this "Device Information" using:

  • Log files — track actions on the Site; data includes IP address, browser type, ISP, referring/exit pages, and timestamps.
  • Web beacons, tags, and pixels — electronic files that record how you browse the Site.

Order Information

When you make or attempt a purchase, we collect your name, billing and shipping address, payment information (including credit/debit card numbers processed securely), email address, and phone number ("Order Information").

When we refer to "Personal Information" in this Privacy Policy, we mean both Device Information and Order Information, as well as any location data described below.


2. Location Data (Mobile App)

The Snooplay mobile application requests access to your device's location. This section explains why, what data is collected, how it is used, and your choices.

What location data we collect

When you grant permission, the App collects your device's approximate or precise geographic location (latitude and longitude) via GPS, Wi-Fi, or mobile network signals.

Why we collect location data

  • Delivery address auto-fill — to suggest and pre-fill your current location as a shipping address, making checkout faster.
  • Shipping availability & estimates — to show accurate delivery timelines and check serviceability to your pincode.
  • Localised offers & promotions — to surface region-specific deals, new arrivals, or events near you.
  • Fraud prevention — to detect unusual order patterns or mismatched billing locations.

How we collect location data

Location is collected only when the App is in use (foreground access). We do not collect your location in the background when you are not actively using the App. Location access is requested at runtime and you will see a permission prompt on your device before any data is collected.

How location data is used and shared

Location data is used solely for the purposes listed above. We do not sell your location data to third parties. We may share approximate location data with our logistics and shipping partners (such as Delhivery, Shiprocket, or Bluedart) strictly to fulfil your orders. These partners are contractually required to keep your data confidential.

Your choices regarding location

  • You may deny the location permission when prompted, or revoke it at any time from your device's Settings → Apps → Snooplay → Permissions.
  • If location access is denied, the App will continue to function; you will simply need to enter your delivery address manually.

Data retention for location data

We retain location data only for as long as necessary to complete your transaction and for up to 90 days thereafter for fraud review purposes. We do not store a historical log of your movement or locations visited.


3. How We Use Your Personal Information

We use Order Information to:

  • Fulfil orders (process payments, arrange shipping, send invoices and confirmations).
  • Communicate with you about your orders, queries, and account.
  • Screen for potential risk or fraud.
  • Send marketing communications in line with your stated preferences.

We use Device Information to screen for fraud (in particular, your IP address) and to improve and optimise the Site and App, including generating analytics about how customers browse and interact, and assessing the success of our marketing campaigns.

We use Location Information (where permitted) for the purposes described in Section 2 above.


4. Sharing Your Personal Information

We share your Personal Information with third parties as follows:

  • Shopify — powers our online store. See Shopify's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Analytics — helps us understand Site usage. See Google's Privacy Policy. Opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • Logistics & shipping partners — Delhivery, Shiprocket, Bluedart, and similar carriers receive only the order and address information needed to deliver your package.
  • Payment gateways — payment processors handle card data under PCI-DSS compliance; we do not store full card numbers.

We may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request, or to protect our rights.


5. Behavioural Advertising

6. Do Not Track

We do not alter our Site's data collection and use practices when we receive a Do Not Track signal from your browser.


7. Children's Privacy

Snooplay is a toy and games retailer, and our products are intended for children — however, our Site and App are directed at parents, guardians, and adult purchasers, not at children directly.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 18 where required by applicable law) without verifiable parental consent. If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child, please contact us at hello@snooplay.in and we will delete it promptly.


8. Data Retention

When you place an order through the Site or App, we retain your Order Information for our records unless and until you request deletion. Location data is retained for a maximum of 90 days as described in Section 2.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Request deletion of your personal information.

  • Withdraw consent to location access at any time via your device settings (see Section 2).
  • Lodge a complaint with a relevant data protection authority.

For users in India, this policy is designed to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023.
