How to Play it?

  • Fix the plastic shield to the decoding board and separate the code pegs from the colour pegs. The players have to decide among themselves who the codebreaker and code maker will be. 

  • Place the board between the players so that the code maker faces the 5 shielded holes. 

  • The codemaker will secretly the 5 code pegs in the 5 holes, which will be further covered using the plastic shield. They can use any combination of 8 colour pegs and 2 or more of the same colour pegs if they want.

  • The codebreakers will place the code pegs in the front row of the code peg holes, the objective here to copy the exact colours and positions of the secret code.

  • The code maker will now place the key pegs in key peg holes. A red key peg to indicate a Code peg of the right colour in the right direction. A white key peg to indicate the Colour peg o the right colour in the wrong position. Thirdly, no key peg to indicate a wrong colour that does not show in the secret code. 

  • The codebreaker now sets another set of code pegs in the second row and tries to get feedback from the code maker until the code is guessed. The pegs placed are left as such in each position until the code is broken.

  • The codebreaker continues placing the pegs until he guesses the secret code. The codemaker. The players can then switch their roles.
